My Heat Pump Experience

Some little known facts and first-hand experiences with the heat pump technology.

About this site

I am a technical enthusiast and an early adopter - an ideal customer for the new generation of HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) appliances based on the heat pump technology.

After a lot of research, I have decided to buy and install LWZ 303, an integrated heat pump and a ventilation system made by a prominent German manufacturer Stiebel Eltron.

Through the series of events that followed, I realized that I've made a big mistake. Since you usually cannot get any real-word info on such appliances before the purchase, this site holds a few blog posts that describe my first-hand experiences with this technology. You may want to read them first, before you decide to invest a five figure sum in euros, just to discover that things are not quite the way your vendor or your project engineer will say.

Simple phrases cannot express my thankfulness and how much I thank for having answered to my proposal due to this almost hopeless case.

To cut a long story short, my LWZ 303 is an expensive, unreliable and inefficient appliance. Its manufacturer remains blissfully ignorant to the fact that their field service staff does not want to do their job.

P.S. I am sure that there are many brilliant engineers working for Stiebel Eltron. I have spoken directly to a few of them. Maybe they have some other excellent products, but LWZ 303 is simply not one of them, especially considering the miserable level of support provided to their customers.
